We are delighted to announce our expansion plans!

Due to a very busy winter period which saw us manufacture and install new Lobster Pods all over the UK from Montrose to West Sussex and a new Lobster Hatchery for Amble Development Trust in Northumberland we need more room.

We currently have a workshop for manufacturing shellfish systems and a research and development area for testing our systems and conducting scientific trials to improve our fish tech.  We are bursting at the seams and have recently signed the lease for the industrial unit next door which will become our new workshop.

Our R & D Director, Dr Keith Todd, is very excited as this means buying lots of new tools and the new, clean space means we can now set up our workshop to be slicker and more effective.  Our original workshop will become our parts store and enable us to increase our capacity and reduce lead times.

Due to this expansion, and a very busy order book for the rest of Spring and into Summer, we need to hire more people.  We will be advertising soon for a Fish Tech Engineer and an Apprentice.

Our new Fish Tech Engineer should have:

some experience working as a plumber, joiner, engineer, in construction or in a public aquarium aquarist team AND/OR

have competed an Engineering HND or Degree (or other complimentary subject e.g. science with practical engineering experience)

Our new Fish Tech Apprentice should have:

Five good passes in National 5 / GCSE or equivalent including Maths, English and at least one Science or technical subject AND/OR

be able to demonstrate some knowledge or experience or aptitude of engineering e.g. fixing cars, DIY, setting up fish tanks.

What is even more important for both new posts however is attitude.  We are a small but innovative team.  We work hard and smart.  We all need to get along, work well together and be motivated working independently too.  We need solution orientated, glass half full kind of folk. While most of our work is competed in our workshops in Dalgety Bay, Fife our systems are installed are all over the UK and require travel and working away from base at times.  Both posts will be supervised on a day to day basis by Laura, our experienced Fish Tech engineer.  She’s great at her job and after two years working with us and experience of working in a Public Aquarium, a Marine Station and lots of DIY projects she is keen to help our new team learn the ropes.  Both candidates will need to learn on the job as what we do is unique.  A natural fit will also be a fish lover!  Fish hobbyists are encouraged to apply.  Good tea making skills are essential!

Innovation and providing practical solutions for our customers is core to what we do here at Todd Fish Tech.  If you can help us please send your CV and a hand written covering letter either by email to toddfishtech@aol.com or preferably post it to our office address: Unit 4-6 Merlin Way, Donibristle Industrial Estate, Dalgety Bay, Fife, KY11 9JY

Best Fishes,
