A Compact Solution for High-Quality Depuration
Our small depuration tank is engineered for shellfish businesses that need a dependable, space-efficient system without compromising performance. Designed for mussels and oysters, this unit provides the same precision, durability and water quality control as our larger commercial systems, while remaining compact and simple to operate.
Capacity and Design Built for Practical Use
This model holds up to 90 kilograms of mussels or approximately 750 oysters. The tank includes a built-in recirculation system and is fully self-contained, making it ideal for small processors, farm shops, research facilities, or businesses expanding their depuration capability.
Constructed from insulated fibreglass, the system is strong, long-lasting and designed to maintain stable temperatures throughout the purification cycle.
Integrated Recirculation and Flow Management
At the heart of the system is a robust recirculation pump paired with a flowmeter. The flowmeter allows operators to measure and maintain a constant flow rate throughout the 42-hour processing cycle. Stable flow is essential for reliable depuration, ensuring all bivalves receive consistent, high-quality water movement.
The tank includes a draw bar to supply the pump and a spray bar positioned along the top to evenly recirculate water back over the trays.
High-Performance UV Sterilisation
The unit includes a 36-watt UV steriliser designed to maintain water quality during continuous use. To ensure optimal sterilisation performance, the UV bulb should be replaced every six months of continuous operation (4,000 hours). An hour-run meter is fitted to the system and can be reset each time the bulb is changed, making maintenance straightforward and transparent.
Tray System with Raised Base Support
One of the tank’s distinctive features is the raised base section designed to support the tray stack. The system is supplied with six trays that stack securely inside the tank, providing excellent water flow around all shellfish. This ensures uniform purification and makes loading and unloading fast and manageable.

All pipework is built using high-quality ABS plastic, known for its reliability, resistance to saltwater, and long service life. Combined with the insulated fibreglass body, this tank offers durability, ease of cleaning and dependable performance under heavy daily use.
