When was Todd Fish Tech founded?
Our story began in 1998.
Marine biologist Dr Keith Todd founded our original business, Aqua Logistix, in 1998 to design and manufacture shellfish systems for the seafood industry.
In 2014 we became Todd Fish Tech, but our values and commitment to quality remained exactly the same. We’ve always believed in designing practical systems that are reliable, straightforward to use and built to last.
What does Todd Fish Tech manufacture?
More than just lobster tanks.
We’ve always manufactured lobster holding systems and shellfish purification systems but our work has taken us much further than that.
Over the years we’ve designed and supplied lobster hatcheries, bespoke marine research aquaria, university marine biology laboratories and public aquarium displays. We’ve also undertaken consultancy projects for councils, private companies and the Scottish Government.
Every project has been different, which is one of the things we enjoy most about the business.
Who is behind Todd Fish Tech?
A family business with complementary skills.
Errin, Keith’s wife, joined the business in 2002.
The original plan was to take a year out from teaching before returning to the classroom. Twenty-four years later she’s still here.
Together we combine Keith’s scientific knowledge with Errin’s business experience to help customers choose the right system and get the very best from it.
What happens after you buy a Todd Fish Tech system?
We don’t disappear once the system is delivered.
One thing we’re particularly proud of is the support we give our customers.
Whether it’s helping filters mature, interpreting water test results or talking through a problem over the phone or on a video call we’re always happy to help.
We also offer water testing and free training because we know that getting the best performance from a system is just as important as designing and building it in the first place.
Many of our customers have been with us for years and know they can simply pick up the phone whenever they need us.
What are we most proud of?
It’s the customers, not the trophies.
Over the years we’ve won many awards including the Scottish EDGE Award and Fishing News Technical Innovation Award, patented the Lobster Pod and celebrated every single sale.
But if we’re honest, the thing we’re proudest of is our customers.
Most of our work comes from repeat business and recommendations. We never take that for granted because we know it has to be earned with every system we build and every conversation we have.
