The Crab Pod is powered by the same award-winning filtration technology used in our popular Lobster Pod system, adapted to accommodate larger volumes of crab and langoustine stored in tubes.
Each Crab Pod system includes:
A multi-stage filtration system: mechanical, biological, and chemical filtration for maximum water quality
Ultraviolet sterilisation to eliminate harmful pathogens
A protein skimmer for efficient removal of organic waste
Our unique moving bed biofilter, which supports the growth of beneficial bacteria for biological filtration
Integrated water and air diffuser channels in the tank base, ensuring clean, filtered, and oxygen-rich seawater reaches all shellfish
Once the biological filter matures (typically within six weeks), we recommend changing 20% of the tank water every four weeks, or as needed depending on ammonia levels, to maintain ideal conditions.
