New Grant Funding Now Open
Two new government-backed grant funds have just opened for applications across the UK seafood sector, providing a vital opportunity for coastal businesses to invest in sustainable, future-focused solutions.
At Todd Fish Tech, we’re proud to support the goals of both the Marine Fund Scotland and the Fisheries and Seafood Scheme (FaSS) in England by offering shellfish systems that deliver measurable results—improving livelihoods, supporting rural communities, and promoting sustainable practices in the seafood supply chain.
Marine Fund Scotland 2025-26
Launched on 10th June 2025, the Marine Fund Scotland is now open for applications, with a first-round deadline of 22 July 2025 at 23:59. Managed by Marine Scotland. The fund supports the Scottish Government’s Blue Economy Vision—encouraging economic growth through sustainable use of marine resources.
Eligible projects include investments that contribute to:
- Coastal community resilience
- Sustainable marine innovation
- Reduction of emissions and marine waste
- Job creation and safeguarding in remote and rural areas
Fisheries and Seafood Scheme (FaSS) – England
Also open is the English FaSS fund, administered by the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) with support from Defra. With £6 million in current funding, and over £35 million awarded across 1,700 projects since its inception, this scheme focuses on:
- Creating a sustainable and resilient seafood sector
- Reducing emissions and environmental impact
- Boosting regional economic growth
- Supporting nature recovery and clean water initiatives
Shellfish Systems that Match Grant Priorities
Todd Fish Tech’s award-winning shellfish storage and purification systems are a perfect match for the funding goals of both schemes. Our Lobster Pod stacking shellfish system and Crab Pod tanks offer:
- 99+% survival rates, eliminating waste and maximising yield
- Energy-efficient design, lowering emissions and operating costs
- Secure, hygienic holding conditions, eliminating the need for dangerous offshore keep creels
- Capacity to store shellfish short or long term, supporting better pricing strategies and reducing pressure on fishing schedules
- Chilled, filtered, and oxygenated systems, ideal for export conditioning and high-value sales to Europe, the Far East, and North America
Whether you’re a creel fisherman, fish merchant, fishmonger or seafood supplier, our systems enable year-round trading, stronger market resilience, and long-term economic viability—all key ambitions of the Marine Fund Scotland and FaSS programmes.
Proven Impact for Coastal Communities
We’ve seen first-hand how our customers across Scotland and England have used grant support to purchase our systems—resulting in:
- Business growth and increased turnover
- New local employment opportunities
- Safer, more flexible working conditions
- Stronger bargaining power with buyers
- A return on investment typically in under 12 months
In short, our systems deliver on every major funding objective: sustainability, resilience, environmental responsibility, and economic growth in coastal regions.
