Fisheries Grants Live in Scotland
Yesterday Mairi Gougeon, Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Land Reform & Islands, announced the opening of the Marine Fund Scotland for the 2026 funding round.
Full guidance and application details are now available and applications are officially open. The deadline for submissions is May 15th 2026 with Marine Scotland advising that funding decisions will be confirmed within 12 weeks of application.
Time to invest in shellfish holding systems
For anyone considering investment this season the message is simple: now is the time to move. These funding windows are tight and demand is always high. If a new shellfish holding system or bivalve purification system is part of your plans delaying could mean missing both the grant opportunity and installation timelines.
We are already seeing strong demand and with this year’s funding now confirmed we expect a particularly busy period ahead. As always we operate on a first come first served basis and lead times will lengthen as the deadline approaches.
